Curling stars of the future

Date: 26th Jan 2020 Author: Stephen Allan

Scouts and Explorers enjoyed an afternoon at the Braehead curling arena under the guidance of a national coach, Drew Jolly. This was the introduction to what many see as one of Scotland’s national sports. The aim of the JNI activity programme is to offer at least one new activity outwith what many would see as traditional Scouting activities to every Scout and Explorer Scout. By the end of the session everyone was placing their stones in the target.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
