Cooking an egg isn’t easy

Date: 5th Apr 2021 Author: Stephen Allan

The Explorers returned to socially distanced outdoor activities which started off with a distance football challenge to get the energy flowing. Next required more skill to start a small fire in a metal dish and then cook an egg in it. There were a variety of different approaches by everyone before Hannah was successful. A giant Easter egg was the obvious prize, of course, no one went home empty-handed with easter eggs for all. This was the first activity for the Unit in over a year and it was great to see all the available places filled with a waiting list for the next activity in a fortnight.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
