Stephen joined the Group as a Cub in 1978 and went on 6 foreign mountaineering expeditions throughout Europe under the leadership of Ian Barr (JTKB), as well as taking part in the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea and Japan in 1991. He lead the Cub Scout Pack for some 20 years which included countless camps and taking the Cubs abroad for the first time ever. Taking on appointments within the then Paisley District and the current Paisley & District as its first District Commissioner. Stephen is currently the Regional Commissioner for West Region.

The Scout Group encourages Explorer Scouts to become Young Leaders and then to go to become fully appointed adult Leaders there are also a number of parents that have become Sectional Assistants and Leaders. There is a wide range of ages throughout the Leadership team of 30 Leaders and we encourage families and members of the local community to come forward.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
